Adventures In Babysitting

Meet Savannah and Cash! I had to babysit them the other day...that's right, a dog CAN be a babysitter. :) You see, their grandmother (my pal Ozzie's Mom) is a good friend of my Mom's and we all went for a walk together. Well, the adults (who were supposed to be supervising) just stood around and snapped photos...SHEESH! So, I stepped up to the plate and kept the little ones in line. ;) Don't let their cute, sweet, innocent faces fool you...behind those mesmerizing smiles are bundles of mischief waiting to be unleashed. ;)

First, I had to make sure the girl stayed on the right side of the tracks.

"Hey you, get back over there where it is safe!"

Then, I had to watch my step and make sure no one else walked over this little dude who was really enjoying rolling in the grass. I know what you are thinking...I thought only dogs enjoyed this activity too but apparently I was wrong.

Next up, a little quality control.

"Cheerios you say, oh dear, I don't know if those are safe. I better taste one first to make sure. "

"Oh, you dropped one. We can't have that now can we....let me find it for you."

And just when I thought my work was done, little dude wanted a piece of my tail!!! I really don't know what the fascination was but this game of chase the tail kept him busy for hours! Ok, not really hours but long enough.

I never realized how exhausting babysitting could be!

And where was my pal Ozzie during ALL of this?? Relaxing in a nice mud bath after he spent some time sniffing out the field for mice!! A little help would have been nice Ozzie! Is that too much to ask??

Now, I need a mud bath after all of that hard work!

Oh Nala, you are a natural! We're everso impressed - we reckon human pups must be the hardest to train 'cos whenever we see them outside of their kennels they're usually running around and making funny high-pitched squealing noises! So for you to have them under your control immediately is simply pawsome, you must be some sort of 'child-whisperer' - way to go!! Tail wags - JD and Max.

Great job there Nala, you're a star.

Lovely photos, especially the tail series! Little Cash is too cute in those jeans.

Excellent stuff there Nala. You could have a lucrative career ahead of you, well, that's if babysitting pays well.

Love the photo of you keeping the girl pup on the right side of the tracks - and checking out the Cheerios too.

Wow Nala, what a great job you did with those adorable little mancubs! We're afraid we'd be rubbish at babysitting....waaaay too selfish :D
We scrolled down....congrats on the award...we just got the same from Scottie the Pointy doood....also congrats on scoring the yummy treats....and on your self control during the torture with said treats....we hope you reminded your humans who's REALLY the boss after all that!

Ah Nala, you're amazing! I have a little human - although right now, she's in Europe - but she needs the exact same care and loving. She always talks to me like a grownup and I do my very best at pretending to listen to her! I'm not allowed to check out her food though. That's not very fair, as I have good intentions, but I must admit that a part of me would need to check it all out in order to see that it was all good, and then, well, there wouldn't be much left for her to try... :-)

Warm greetings from Africa!

I like your description of "bundles of mischief waiting to be unleashed". It sounds like Zim and Ammy. Ha woo!

Hi Nala - what a fantastic babysitter you are! You are so patient with those human pups - even let them pull your tail! I think I would have found that scary...
But human pups do always come with lots of yummy food, don't they? And if you hang around long enough, they always drop some on the floor! :-)

Ha Ha - it still looks like you had a lot of fun despite getting tired. Did the little dude find some good smells there to roll around in like we do? BOL

Hihi, cool pics! And what a great baby-sitter you are, Nala! James loves kids, but he is way too strong to be playing with them considering he doesn't understand his own strength. He can only play with older kids who are used to dogs and who can tell him to calm down when needed. ;) That Crazy Blue one, I tell ya... :)

Great job babysitting. I can see that if you ever get your own human puppy, you will be a great big sister. Your mom and dad can just relax and let you do all the work.
