A Contest and a Couple of Other Things

We Have a Winner!

Kay guessed right!

Brix is a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog!

Great guesses everyone! I was impressed with your answers! Kay, the only problem is I am not sure who you are or how to contact you for your prize so please email me with your info. :) To learn more about this breed and see some pictures of my pal Brix click here.

What Breed Am I?

I have done some of these before but this time there is a small prize involved! The first person who can correctly identify the breed of this dog will receive a small treat from me! :) Good luck!

Since my pawrents have been home...

I have enjoyed some fun walks and play time with my furiends! This was last weekend on a walk with my furiend Sierra. We met two new dogs named Kara and Rita...Kara was a great player and we chased each other alot! She is very fast like me!

First, a proper hello from Sierra and I. ;)

Then, let the playing begin!

I also enjoyed some time jumping over logs.

Sierra enjoyed a nice drink from the river.

Great name game! And I love the leaping off the log photo!

Is the breed one of those wolf lookalikes? There's three that I know of over here and they all share pretty much the same genes, just have different names. Utonagan, Tamaskan and Northern Inuit.

I'm going way out on a limb here since they're super rare, but is it a Saarloos Wolfhound?

Another thought was Native American Indian Dog, since there's a lot of them here in the NW. They have a WIDE variety of looks, but a lot I've seen, have the classic agouti pattern like this handsome dog.

I can't wait to hear what it is!

PS If you don't read comments on my blog, my Aunt lives in Wheeling, WV, and I try to visit at least every fall, if not more often!

Did you obey the speed limit on your hike? Nala is pretty fast!

Hi Nala....we think your friend is a Corgi! But we can't see the tail so we're not sure, no tail is Pembroke and with tail is Cardi.
Great 'A's Amber, it's a tough game, eh? We liked your choice of movie :o)
Slobbers xx

Actually Dughallmor Beags, there's more to Corgwn than tails, or no tails! LOTS of Pemmys have tails (Since docking is banned in many parts of Europe) Cardis are longer, lower, and the breeds have differnt head, and body types.

They're as separate of breeds, as Beagles are to Harriers, and Flat Coats are to Goldens. Distantly related, but still, not the same :) Someone who has a base knowledge of Pems, and Cardis, can tell the breeds easily, by just a piece of the body for correct examples since they are SO differnt (Even in feet shapes!)

We are going to guess Australian cattle dog. But it could also be a heeler.

Great job on the A's and our favorite pic is the one of Nala jumping the log.

Happy weekend.

Another rare breed guess a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog?

Kay is a friend of mine, and her e-mail addy is whiplashapbt at gmail.com in case she doesn't read this. I'll also tell her to re-comment!

I pointed her here, since I was sure she'd know. The Saarloos Wolfhound is very much like the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog in looks, and breeding but there's quite a few of those Wolfdog crosses who look very alike each other! She actually KNOWS the difference between them too. She's 'darn good'! heehee

Nala! OMD! I didn't even notice! My dearest Ludo was who Tagged me in the game, so I had copied the text from his. I was replacing what he picked with mine, but I was having a hard time and kept skipping some. I must have forgotten to go back and change them!! BOL

Thanks for the heads up!

Licks,
Kylie

pees I came too late to play the game, Kay had already won! Glad to have you back, you're looking as good as ever jumping over that log!!

Aw Nala, you are the coolest as you fly across (or from?) that log! I also love the Dumbo look - or should I say my mom does? :-) Would love to play games with you! We could chase goats together! The fun ends when they run back to their yard, but the good this is that we contribute to society and they learn their lesson (no goats allowed on the street). And I'll teach you how to catch lizards too if you like!!

Warmest greetings,
Sheba
