Special Treats, Awards, & Notecards!

Mom and Dad left me for the day yesterday to go to Seattle. They went to the Seattle Art Museum, Pike Place Market, and had lunch at Matt's in the Market which overlooks Pike Place Market and Puget Sound. Don't worry...my furiends, Hank & Libby and their Mom, came to check on me and feed me while Mom and Dad were gone. While the pawrents were walking around in downtown Seattle, Dad and Uncle Joel noticed the Three Dog Bakery. Go check out their site...it's very nice and they even do these events called Dine With Your Dog and the proceeds go to help rescue dogs. :) Mom didn't notice because she was too busy chatting with Etsuko but luckily Dad called her attention to it and asked if she wanted to go in. OF COURSE, she did and she came out with two YUMMY treats for me!! I got a peanut butter bone and biscotti!

So Mom and Dad think it is great fun to torture me like this...they put things near me or even ON MY PAWS (the nerve) and then tell me to "leave it". Well, Mom thinks it is so funny that I look away from the treats but hey, a girl has to do what a girl has to do. If I look at the tasty treat too long then I may be tempted to forget about what she has just told me and gobble it up. So, in order to get the job done, I MUST look away and wait until I hear the words "take it" before I can eat my yummy treats.

Awards

Next up are my lovely awards! I just received the "Paw"some Blog Award from my furiends Gus & Waldo!
Thanks guys...I feel VERY special to have received this award from you. And I think you are pretty PAWsome too! I LOVE your award design too. :)

This award is presented to those dog bloggers out there who know the meaning of GREATNESS. Their blogs are consistently interesting, funny, or informative. Their KINDNESS is extended to others without expectation of it's return, and their FRIENDSHIP inspires others to do EXTRAORDINARY things. These are the blogs you can't wait to read everyday. In short, they are AWE-INSPIRING, full of wonder, and simply PAWsome!Pass this award on to 4 others who you feel exemplify a "Paw"some Blog, and leave a note saying why you think they deserve the Pawsome Award!

So, the 4 we choose are:

The Pointers from Pointer Pandemonium - These 3 Pointers are SO funny and we love reading their hilarious commentary. Plus, they are the most loving brothers and sisters and they know how to give the best cuddles and hugs. They also have to be the most flexible doggies ever which is evidenced by some of their interesting sleeping positions. :)

Sheba - She is a Ridgeback girl like me but boy does she have some very neat adventures and COOL friends! She lives in Niger and she gets to chase lizards, take hikes in the bush, and her playmates are horses!!! I am excited everyday to read of her new adventures and see the beautiful photos. :)

Honey - Many of you already know this Dancing Diva...she is just PAWsome in every sense of the word. She not only dances but she also models!! The photoshoot offers keep coming and if you go visit her blog you will see why. She is one gorgeous Dane girl.

JD & Max - They are some new furiends of mine and they are two very cute Schnauzer brothers! They are witty and silly all at the same time. JD stands for Just Dog and he uses his name to get sympathy from humans that don't know better...BRILLIANT! Max likes to take naps right on top his human's feet....he just plops down on top of those feet and starts snoring!! BOL!!!

This last award is from my Dane furiends, Sasha & Max! Thanks you two...you are fabulous too and Mom and I LOVE reading your blog. Sasha, although we know Max can be difficult we know you secretly LOVE him but we also are very entertained hearing of your hardships in dealing with him. ;)

Notecards

Well, my furiends, I know there is a cat on this notecard but it is cute don't you think...even for a cat. ;) Mom says she likes cats but I'm not so sure I agree. Anyway, Mom won these wonderful notecards from the amazing Rachel Sloan! She is a pet photographer and if you haven't had a chance to visit her blog/website then click HERE. You can also find a link to her on our sidebar...Mom visits often for photo inspiration and to see her lovely pictures.

Your treats look great - although not nearly as great as you with that distant look at your face pretending there aren't really tasties on your feet. :D

Ooh - thank you for the award, we're so excited, we can't WAIT to put it on our page and then paw it forward! And thanks for the tip about peanut butter in yoghurt - we can't have elevenses today as our humans are at work (the NERVE!) so we might suggest it for a small lunchtime snack instead, as we have sucessfully trained our female human to pop home every lunchtime to walk us whilst reminding us how adorable we both are - tee hee! Tail wags - JD and Max.

Congrats on your award!

We love the 3 Dog Bakery too. Alih & the late Carlos loved to visit them when we'd go to Santa Barbara. :)

Yeah, the Dobbie on the WP Blog is a cool dude. ;) It's against the law to dock tails and crop ears on dogs in Sweden, as well as in most Western European countries too (cropping ears has been forbidden since 1947 & docking tails since 1988 in Sweden). In the beginning it was weird for example to see a Rottie with a tail and a Doberman with both tail & ears... But I'm used to it now. Hey, James ears would have been cropped had he lived in the States - those big floppy ears... lol.

Have a great week!
Stinkin' kisses from Alih & James

We has heard of the three dog bakery, mummy has two of their cook books!! But they don't operate in the Engerland, so we can't buys things from there, so mummy has to bake stuff for us to make up for it. Some of their cakes with all the frosting look so delicious don't they!! You be very lucky to get some treats from there!!
Come check out our blog later on for some pics of me doing a bit of modeling!! BOL ;) xxxxxxx

Aw Nala, a huge thank you for the award! My mom is always getting awards for her part of the blog but this was my first ever! Wish you could share those lizards with me, they're so much fun! Hey, yesterday, Anette took me to the Brandy family (the Azawakhs) and we had soooo much fun! I'm working on my moves so that mom will be able to post pictures of me in the air with all sorts of legs sticking out. Ain't it fun to be an RR?

Big kiss from Africa!

Hi Nala,

Thank you SO much for giving me this award! I feel so honoured and am so glad that you enjoy reading my blog.

I wish there was a 3 Dog Bakery near me too! My human is useless at baking anything so no hope for home-baked cookies for me! :-(
You were such a good girl to leave that cookie until told...I would have drooled a river over the place waiting to eat it!

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane

You know what's funny? When my parents went to Seattle without us to figure out if we would move up there, they brought us back bones just like that from Three Dog Bakery. Those bones must be the required treat!
