A New Friend!

Well, life has been pretty uneventful lately. Mom and Dad have been busy so I haven't been out as much, but I did get to meet a new furiend when I was working with Mom at her school last weekend. This is Marlon! He was a very nice dog, but I'm afraid my bouncy nature intimidated him a little. Every time I would run at him in my usual bouncy and boisterous way he would freeze. We still had fun though....hope I didn't scare him too much. I am really a nice girl Marlon, I promise! I just like to be up close and personal when I play. :)

Marlon likes to hide between his Mom's legs for protection....hmmm, wonder what made him want to hide here?? I'll never know. ;)

In other news, my furiend, Sierra, had another run-in with some barb wire! :( Poor girl...this is like the 3rd or 4th time (maybe even more) that she has been hurt in a similar fashion! She had to get stitches, she has to wear one of those nasty cone things that go around your head, and she is restricted to the leash for 10 days!!! How will I ever survive without her. :( Get well soon Sierra!

Marlon is beautiful! I guess I'm kinda on his side though... A couple weeks ago on my walk, a big happy Ridgeback came running up to me... I knew he wanted to play, but I thought he was gonna squash me under his paws! I had to hide behind my human's legs too, hehe... That's kinda embarrassing to admit. If I were bigger though, I'd play hard with your Ridgebacks without any fear!

Oh no, I do hope Sierra gets better really soon!

I love the name Marlon. If Alih and James ever get a brother he could very well be named Marlon. :)

I don't think I remembered to leave a comment about your adorable brother, Nala! Maybe one day you will get your "very own" brother to play with at home. ;)

Stinkin' kisses from Alih & James

ps. No, James back is not hurting. The harness is designed so that all weight/pressure is on his chest (the way it should be). It's a top notch harness he has, we ordered it from the States. ;):)

Watch out for those deep freeze doggies. Sure they act all scared and stuff, but once they get to know you then they are all bitey face and hanging off your lips and stuff.

Poor Sierra! That sounds just awful.

Marlon is cute! I didn't realize how small he was until I saw the picture of you two together and the one with him hiding. :)

Sorry to hear about your friend! Our place in New York had an old barb wire fence way in the back in the woods at the edge of a long-abandoned farm. Tucker never brain-cramped into it but he came close a couple of times.

He has WONDERFUL ears!
I used to have a crush on a Black Lab who lives down the street. He weighs over 120 pounds (I am less than half of that) but he was afraid of me. He'd hide behind his mama's legs, too - only she weighs less than him, too! Silly puppy!
I hope your friend Sierra gets better soon!
Love,
Ammy

Aw, poor Sierra - we hope she gets better soon. And Marlon is so cute - we like to hide behind legs too when we're not too sure of things. People think we're cute when we do this so we think it's a good move on our part, he he! Marlon looks like fun - we're sure he'll loose his shyness soon! Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.

Marlon looks like a fun furiend. And poor Sierra, she needs to stay away from those barbed wires. Paws crossed she is OK.

Marlon is a cute doggy! Maybe if you get to hang out with him more he'll get used to your bouncy self and not be so scared!

Oh Nala, I think you & I would get on like a house on fire if we could ever meet! I also like to bounce over and be "up close & personal" (usually with my paw) and a lot of other dogs find that a bit scary! I'm a rough tomboy! :-)

...and oh yes--JD and MAx wrote us this quote "It was Hardy who said 'it is the small imperfections that enhances true beauty' - or in other words, who wants to look just like everyone else?!!"

which made OUR mom feel alot better too--because her nose is full of all sorts of lovely bumps and now she can say it makes her beautiful!!
