New Year's Traditions

I know New Year's was a month ago, but I wanted to share one of our traditions with you.  Every year, my pawrents get together with my Uncle Joel and now his soon to be wife, Etsuko.  Every year, they always put together a puzzle.  Dad and Uncle Joel can spend hours doing this.  Well, this year Mom had a puzzle of moi made for them to put together.  Although it was a bit simpler than the ones they normally do, it was still fun...I mean how could it not be???  It was of me after all. ;)  It even came in a tin with me on the front.

While sledding is not a tradition, Mom thinks it should be.  Apparently, the humans had alot of fun riding these red plastic things down the hill.  I wouldn't know about that because they said it was too dangerous for me to come along.  Apparently, the hill is pretty steep and you get going fast and there are sometimes lots of people. (although this time they had the hill all to themsleves)  Well, Mom said the potential for me to get run over by a sled was too great, so I had to settle for a snowball fight with Mom when they returned.  I love trying to catch snowballs in my mouth...it's great fun!

WOWZERS! OK, first, Ammy wanted to know what you were puzzled about ... then she started giggling, so I think that's one of her jokes that I really don't get. But anyway - WOWZERS! That puzzle is so COOL! Who wouldn't love looking at your gorgeous face?!?! What great incentive to finish the puzzle!
I've heard of sledding. There's something in my blood that tells me sledding is a very good thing. Siberianly speaking, I"ve never gone sledding, but think it would be mighty fun to ride on one of those - don't you? Snowball fights are a blast, too!

Mom always did a puzzle at Christmas time = a tradition she says she needs to bring back. The grandkids love puzzles too. She used to love to do the "Impossible" puzzles but they don't seem to make them any more.

Happy sledding - we would love to pull a sled but our snow is all gone away.

Sledding looks like fun, but the snowball fight looks like even more fun.

Wow, Nala - you had a puzzle made of YOU?? How cool is that!! My humans like puzzles too, although they haven't done one in a long time - you just reminded us how much fun they are! What a great tradition!

And that sledding looks fantastic fun too - I have never seen snow but my humans have - when they used to live in the faraway place called England - but it was never enough snow to go sliding down hills like that!

Cool puzzle!!! Wow! You look like a deer in that one sledding picture. How fun! Maybe I can talk mom and dad to a trip up your way so I can play in some snow. Oh wait, does that mean I need to get booties too? I know mom's been talking about it for a while now. She's also mentioned getting 'Doggles' for me to wear in the convertible. What is it with moms and dressing us up?!

ps...mom wants me to ask about the brand of your snow/moon boots..

Hi Nala - our humans love puzzles too. They like to kick back with a glass of wine around the festive time, chatting and doing puzzles - and snacking of course, he he he! Hey - we simply adore the photo of you being hit with a snowball, you look like you're having SO much fun in it! Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
