Scenes From Around the House

Recuperating - there's nothing like a snuggle on the couch with Mom to make a girl feel better. :)

Salmon Chowder
I got to lick the cream cheese packet that went into it. :) YUM!

I also got to eat some of the bacon that went on top.  You are probably thinking, hmmm, cream cheese and bacon, doesn't sound very healthy.  However, it was fat free cream cheese and as for the bacon, well, it was only sprinkled on top.  Nevermind the heaping pile of it Mom has...only sprinkles right. ;)  I also got to taste Mom's bread...it was a new recipe and she thinks it will be a keeper.

Now, onto more serious business.  DON'T do this unless....

you want to wear this!  That's right, the first day after my incident Mom took off work to be with me, but yesterday she decided to work as I seemed to do fine with my bandage.  BOL...fooled her, didn't I.  When Dad came home for lunch he found this on their bed and me with a free foot!  As soon as Mom got home though she put this awful thing on me and took me back to the vet.  He said my owie looked great but to keep the sock on for about one more week.  YUCK!  I should have just left the bandage alone.

Oh, it gets worse...when I go outside I have to put a plastic bag on top of the sock to keep it from getting wet.   Mom says that today she will take me to the pet store to get me some new treats and a toy but I have to put my sock and boot on.  RATS!

Here is my toenail.  The only good thing is that inside the house I can take the sock off as long as Mom makes sure I don't lick it.  So far, I have been a very good girl.

Here's the side view....it is healing quite nicely. :)

This is from last night...I was beckoning Mom to come and snuggle with me so we could watch some crime shows.  Eventually she did. :)  Now I must go beckon her to take me to the store....I can't wait for my new toy and treats!!  WOOHOO!  Being on the injured list sure has its benefits.

Your nail looks like it is healing nicely - but no licking, and do wear your sock and plastic bag so it won't get infected. You and Mom look so comfy there together on the sofa.

Ouch, ouch ouch!! Makes my toenail hurt just to look at that! Quite the girly sock you got there, Nala. But if you get extra snuggle time, I guess it's worth it! BTW mom's mouth was watering after seeing the pictures of that salmon chowder - yum!!!

Ooh, Nala - that nail looks awfully sore! But I have to say, I think you look quite cute with the sock - especially with the little pink ribbon! :-)

Hope you got some great treats at the store as a sop!

YEOWCH! That STILL looks painful to me. I'm not so good at not licking. After I had my 'procedure,' I was licking and mom told me if I kept it up, I would have to wear the Cone of Shame (at least she didn't put a sock over it). Turns out, I was allergic to the stuff they put in stitches to dissolve. The vet took out the stitches, and I'm not licking so much. I hope you heal up soon. The weather is going to be really nice for a few days. Take care and have fun with your new toy!

Hi Nala, you sure had your mom fooled, he he he! You're being a very good girl - we can't blame you for a bit of a slip. We loved your pink ribbon - even when healing you're a style icon, way to go!

We're looking forward to finding out what new treats and toys you got to help you through this painful time. All your photos are gorgeous but we really loved that last one of you. If we could have crawled through the screen to join you we would have!

You're doing so well at milking your injury! That looks painful! Way worse than mine was. Heal up fast and don't worry what the other pups think when you go to the pet store. :)
