Bike Ride and Breakfast for Dinner

On Mother's Day, Dad and I took Mom out for a bike ride.  It was my first time going with them for a bike ride, and they were worried I would just stop and refuse to run with them or run and stop in front of their bikes.  I must say that I impressed them and shattered their preconceived notions.  For the most part, I ran right along with them.  I even passed up the most delicious treat available to a country dog, horse candy! (you do know what I am talking of, don't you? ;) Anyway, they were very proud of me.

We only went a total of 2 miles, and we kept a moderately slow pace as Mom and Dad didn't want to over do it on my first ride.  I can sprint with the best of them, but they were concerned my endurance wouldn't hold out.  Sheesh, what do they know...I could have kept going and going just like the Energizer bunny!   We also stopped for water breaks and Mom let me have some of her water.

Check it out...I am beating Mom!  WOOHOO...I am the CHAMPION!

I see Dad...better go over and say hello.

Oops...sorry Mom, forgot you were right there! BOL!  Lucky you are good with the brakes. ;)  Seriously, that was the only time I did that.  I really did run along beside of them very nicely despite what this picture may indicate.

This last picture has nothing to do with Mother's Day. (Dad took Mom out to eat for Mother's Day)  This is what we had for dinner tonight.  Mom made some rhubarb-strawberry compote using her rhubarb from her garden this weekend and wanted to make pancakes to pour it over.  Well, that didn't happen on the weekend, so Dad suggested we have breakfast for dinner, so we did!  I even got a pancake with a wee bit of fresh whip cream on it...YUM!  I vote for breakfast dinner every week.

That is a good workout for an athletic gal such as yourself and for the humans too.

Hey! PeeWee says there is a doggie named Nala at his agilities school. How about that? But she is a toller.

Great bike ride, but mostly our hu-dad wanted to say he loves breakfast food and often has it for dinner.

We've done breakfast for dinner here too! Someone gave us some fresh eggs their very own chickens had laid, and we couldn't wait till the weekend to use them! It's become a tradition here, gotta love breakfast for dinner! Nice bike/hike there - don't think I'd be able to keep up with a bicycle, so mom will have to just put me in a basket if she ever decides to do something like that!

Whoa! Breakfast for dinner! That's crazy! But crazy in a good kind of way. I will have to talk to my mom about this concept.

What a fun bike ride! So when do you get to actually ride a bike?

Look at you run, Nala!! It looks like you were born to go on bike rides! :-) But very sensible of your humans to take thins slowly the first time...my humans have tried jogging & biking with me when I was young but let me tell you, Great Danes REALLY have no stamina!! :-)

Oooh -breakfast for dinner! My humans sometimes do that - althoguh they have an "English Breakast" for dinner (ie. bacon, eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, etc) - they love it! And I love the leftovers!

Cool! I went on my first bike ride too! Not on mother's day I don't think. I had so much fun!! We only went two miles as well. Didn't want to strain my legs since it's all asphalt. Glad you had so much fun!

We're only a couple of weeks away from being dry enough to get the bikes out again. Until then I'm living vicariously through you!

Amber,
I have been craving rhubarb ever since I learned it has some incredible health benefits. You are awesome. THe bike ride looks great. I don't think endurance would of been a problem for Nala ever.

Hi Nala, oooh, you passed by some horse candy? Wow, our humans are SO impressed with you, we're not sure we would ever have the will power to do that!

FH now has a craving for rhubarb and cream - oooh, yummy! We also vote for breakfast for dinner, bring it on!
