My actual birthday was Friday, April 8th, and I turned a whopping 5 years old! Normally, I get a frozen peanut butter, banana, and yogurt bone for my birthday and a special dinner, but this year Mom and I were at my Nanny & Grampi's so things were a tad different. We were there because our kitchen has been gutted due to a water leak and there were these big, scary, LOUD monsters (air movers and humidifier) in our house that we wanted to escape. Luckily, Nanny & Grampi took us in for 3 nights...they are the BEST! So, instead of my usual birthday routine I got to do some different stuff like go to the Pet Market (where my brother Remi goes) and get this delicious pig ear you see me devouring above. I picked it out myself!! I even met the store dog named George. He really wanted to play but for once I was too interested in all the smells and checking out the store, so I paid him little attention. He sure seemed like a sweetie though.
Next, I got to go to my brother, Remi's, local dog park!!! I was sad that he wasn't there, but I'll catch him another time, I'm sure! Anyway, it was a gorgeous and sunny day which has been rare in this area for awhile. I met lots of nice dogs and got to play with this sweet girl named Kaya. She is a Husky/German Shepherd mix.
Kaya and I had lots of fun...can you tell? ;)
The next day after my birthday I even got to go back! What a great weekend! This time I met a Ridgeback just like me! Lucy is her name, and she is 8 years old. Mom says it was so neat to see us together and that it was like we connected and knew we were the same. She even bounced and play bowed like me although I must say it was a bit hard for her to keep up with me but then again she does have 3 years on me. ;)
Here I am meeting Lucy and asking her if she wants to play.
And of course, she did! We had a BLAST!
Next, this has nothing to do with my birthday...just an update on getting ready for my new sis. Dad and I put the crib together a week ago. Well, I didn't actually put it together, but I supervised and directed Dad on what to do...he NEVER could have done it without me!
We still have to get a mattress and some cute bedding, but that will come soon enough. In the meantime, I decided to chew on my bully stick and ponder what life will be like with a little baby in the house. Mom says she has a feeling she will find me in front of the crib like this alot watching over my new sister.
