Babysitting

This babysitting stuff is hard work...I don't think I have ever been so exhausted.  Someone's got to do it though! Actually, this is right after Mom and Dad brought Joslyn home from her 2 week check-up which went very well...she's already up to 7 lbs.!  Can you say "little piggy"! ;) BOL! I won't mention the pregnancy sympathy weight I gained, but let's just say I can afford to shed a few while this little gal packs on the pounds. Anyway, Mom and Dad were surprised to see me this comfortable so close to Miss J...I just sat there and watched her sleep and listened to her interesting baby noises.  Babies are quite entertaining.

Well, what can I say...I guess I better embrace the change, because it looks like this little pup is here to stay! :)

Welcome Joslyn!!

Welcome Baby Joslyn!!!

My little sister is FINALLY here....weighing in at 6 lbs. 3 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long!  She was born on Monday, which was also my pawrent's anniversary...how funny!  I also got to be part of the fun as Mom's water broke when she was taking a walk with me...what can I say, I was pushing her to get things going and it worked! hehehe!

I must say though that I still don't know quite what to think about my new sister...she's cute and all but I am just not sure.  For now, I try to keep my distance and sniff from afar.  Let me tell ya though...she is a night owl and definitely interrupting my beauty sleep...every time she cries I have to stand alert and make sure things are ok!

Saying hello to Joslyn!

Mom and Dad bringing Joslyn home!

Anyway, wanted to take a minute to tell you about my sis...more to come, but who knows when?? ;)

Stubborn Like her Big Sister!

Does this face look stubborn to you?

Mom says my little sister must be stubborn like me. She apparently is not ready to emerge from her cozy little home just yet.  I totally understand what that's like...it's like when you are all bundled up in a warm blankie on the couch or bed and then you stick your muzzle behind a pillow to shut out everything and just relax and you just want to stay in that spot with no interruptions...ahhh, can't say that I blame her! ;)

On the other hand...we are all ready to meet you baby girl, so please come out soon.  I don't know how much longer I can take this pregnancy thing.  Mom is slow, lacking energy, and can't chase me around the kitchen table quite like she used to.  Trust me, it's not so bad out here and as soon as you are here I will begin instructing you on how to wrap Mom and Dad around your tiny little paw, I mean finger! :)  Hope to see you soon Joslyn!

Kisses,
Nala

Waiting On My Baby Sister

Well, Mom is due to have MY baby sister next Wednesday, but I can hardly wait!!  It could be any day or it could be even longer than next Wednesday...at least that's what Mom tells me.  I sure am hoping it's not too much longer.  I have been watching over her room diligently.  I've already found a nice, cozy spot to lay in her room...right in front of her crib.  I hear babies smell soooo good...I'm super excited to give baby Joslyn a good sniff when she gets home, and I'll probably attempt to give her a few kisses although Mom says my kisses need to be reserved for only her and Dad for awhile. Whatever Mom!  We'll see about that! ;)

I know my days as an only child are short in number these days, but I think I am going to be ok with that! As you can see, Mom still adores ME as much as ever!  I think it will be fun to have 3 girls in the house as we can gang up on Dad! BOL!  Dad, if you are reading this then please know that Mom forced me to say that...please don't hold it against me and withhold my treats. :)

This was from last week...Mom was 38 1/2 weeks...now she is 39 1/2 weeks.  Can you believe a little baby is in her tummy....how bizarre!

This is Joslyn's room...mostly birdies, but there are a few puppy things around too.  There's a basket of puppy toys on the floor, two puppies hanging off her crib, one puppy bobble head thingy on the windowsill, and notice the painting of yours truly in the upper right hand corner! :)

Plus, 75% of the books she has are about DOGS and there's even a statue of me looking over her.  Mom made it in an art education class a few years ago. :)  She made me a little on the chunky side, but I'll forgive her. ;)  Anyway, the countdown is on, and I can't wait to meet my little sis!

Kisses,
Nala
